The Lupus Foundation of America, DC/MD/VA Chapter is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, and advocacy.
Thank you to all of you who have decided to help fight lupus. We cannot achieve our goals, provide patient programs and services, support research and spread awareness about lupus without each and every one of you.
We are thrilled to announce our Medical Honoree, Dr. Jeffrey Potter, for the DC Walk to End Lupus Now.
Dr. Potter has been involved with our chapter for several years, in which he has demonstrated a willingness to go above and beyond. He volunteers his time to serve as a member of our Medical Scientific Advisory Council. He was a guest speaker at our 2015 & 2016 Maryland Lupus Summit and the 2016 Virginia Lupus Summit. We are very fortunate and thankful to have a physician such as Dr. Potter that dedicates time to educate patients and participate in community activities. Dr. Potter is an associate with the Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, PC, which has been serving patients in the metro Washington DC for over 30 years
We are thrilled to announce our Youth Honoree, Larea Barrett, for the DC Walk to End Lupus Now.
Diagnosed at age 10, she hasn't let that stop her from living a full, vibrant life. Learning to manage her own medications and being active in her diagnosis, she remains a positive, beautiful young woman. Come walk with Larea, May 20th at the Lincoln Memorial.
